How large a marquee do I need?
Two good rules of thumb are:
- For a buffet event: a minimum of 8 square feet per person
- For a seated event: a minimum of 15 square feet per person
Then, add in space for dance floors, catering tables, music centres etc. This will give you a rough idea of your space requirements.
Do you supply just the marquee?
No. We supply furniture, lighting and flooring as well. And we have links with many other event companies, so we can also arrange catering equipment, marquee decoration, theme parties etc, Please ask us for what you need and we will help if we can.
How long is your marquee hire period?
For weekend events, the marquee is yours for both Saturday and Sunday. During the week, the length of the marquee hire period is by arrangement.
What is the difference between lined and unlined marquees?
Lined marquees are more luxurious and are an essential element of a traditional wedding-style marquee. With unlined marquees, the PVC walls and marquee structure are fully visible, making them more suitable for functional or casual events.
Does the marquee need to be anchored to the ground?
Yes. All marquees need to be anchored securely to the ground. On grass, tarmac, and gravel surfaces the marquee is anchored to the ground using steel rods. On concrete, industrial grade anchor bolts are used.
When will you erect/take down my marquee?
Typically, we erect marquees a day or two before an event; and we dismantle them a day or so following the event. If you have a special requirement, please let us know and we will timetable for that. We will discuss this with you beforehand.
Could a marquee damage cables or pipes running underneath the site?
If cabling or pipework is near the surface, damage is possible. So please advise us if any water mains or electrical cabling are close to the ground.
